How long do dental implants last?

With proper care, dental implants can last a lifetime. The crown on top may need replacing after 10-15 years due to normal wear, but the implant itself is designed to be permanent.

Is the implant procedure painful?

Most patients are surprised by how comfortable it is. We use local anaesthetic and sedation options. Many patients say it was less painful than having a tooth extracted. Post-operative discomfort is usually managed with standard pain relief.

How long does the whole process take?

From implant placement to final crown, the process typically takes 3-6 months. Most of that time is healing — the actual appointments are relatively quick. In some cases, same-day implants are possible.

There’s no upper age limit. As long as you’re in reasonable health and have adequate bone, implants can work well at any age. We’ve placed implants for patients in their 80s.

What if I don’t have enough bone?

Yes — implants can support individual crowns, bridges, or even full-arch dentures. For a full set of teeth, as few as 4-6 implants can support an entire arch (All-on-4 concept).
